Filing a Complaint
All REALTORS® adhere to the National Association of REALTORS® strict Code of Ethics, which is based on professionalism and protection of the public. The Spartanburg Association of REALTORS® ensures the ethical behavior of its REALTOR® members through the professional standards process. This process is administered by the South Carolina Association of REALTORS®.
Because not all real estate agents are REALTORS®, the Association will need to verify if the individual is a member. If the real estate licensee is not a REALTOR®, your only recourse may be the state real estate licensing authority, S.C. Real Estate Commission or the courts.
Mediation
Mediation may also be an alternative to avoid expense, lengthy, and unpredictable litigation.
